Thank you for support during 2025. This was yet again a difficult year for the BPO and Meet Directors in mounting numbers of competitors participation.
BPO in its thirty-first year has worked with Meet Directors to hold championships.
The BPO have two types of Powerlifting championships. Three lifts, squat, bench and dead lift and total, Raw, Classic and Single Ply divisions, And two lifts Raw Bilateral division. Bench press, dead lift and total.
BPO have received NO feedback from lifters to the interest in lifters doing Multi-Ply Powerlifting and Multi-Rep Bench Press competitions.
It is important that lifters clearly indicate their preferred choice on entry forms. However, lifters CANNOT interchange in either class or category at the same championships. The main difference with Raw Powerlifting is knee sleeves and Classic Powerlifting is knee wraps. Sadley BPO had to cancel championships in Wales and Scotland due to insufficient lift entries.
The BPO are grateful to Phil Beniston, Technical Officer for keep all the British records up-to date; and to all the Referees providing their time, talent and service at championships.
Due to the economics in promoting championship, BPO will NOT warrant championships with less than 10 lifter entries at closing date without the Meet Directors approval.
The BPO have been affiliated to the World Powerlifting Federation since 1999. British powerlifters are a formidable force on the World Powerlifting scene.
The BPO have been affiliated to the European Powerlifting Congress since 1996. British powerlifters have been a formidable force on the European Powerlifting scene.
The BPO is the ONLY Organisation in Great Britain that, gives lifters the scope and opportunity to compete at all levels of competition. The BPO aim is for more lifter entries at their Championships than any other organisation.
