2025 BPO International Open Multi-lifts Powerlifting & Single lift Bench Press Championships

BPO are grateful to Bone’s Gym thanks to the Proprietor Barry Davis for hosting the above championships. Over forty spectators generated great vocal support and camaraderie.
Sadley, the Nigerian lifters were unable to attend due to the British Embassy in Lagos failing to provide them with the appropriate entry visas.
Lifters, Officials and Spectators had travelled afar in wintry conditions.
All lifters were presented with unique gold lifter statues and certificates of participation at the end of the championships by Penelope Beniston.
Six British records were broken at these championships.

67.5kg Women’s Junior 20-23 – Ela Cetin – Squat 112.5kg B Dead Lift 122.5kg B
100kg Men’s Junior 20-23 – Danny Evans, Squat 215kg B, Bench 165kg B, Dead Lift 245kg B & Total 625kg B

Lifters have since e-mailed, Facebook, text, telephoned and wrote to express how “GOOD” the Championships were run, with dedication and commitment from all those below involved.

BPO Best Overall Bench Press receiving the Annual David Berg Memorial Shield went to Danny Evans with 102 points.
BPO Best Overall Dead Lift receiving the Annual Eddy Pengelly Memorial Shield went to James Butler with 170 points.

BPO Best Overall Powerlifter receiving the Brian Smith Memorial Shield went to Danny Evans with 377 points.
BPO Best Overall Squat receiving the Nick Luffman Memorial Shield went to Danny Evans with 102 points.
WPF HALL OF FAME AWARDS
The 27th WPF Congress for services to Powerlifting awarded the Hall of Fame Certificate and lapel badges to:
Barry Davis GBR and David Mannering GBR.
NEW BPO NATIONAL REFEREES
Congratulations to Penny Beniston and Phil White passing the BPO National Referees exam in October.
