Besides the cancelling and re-arranging the 2021 WPF World championships in India due to Covid-19, Powerlifting has suffered a major impact from the pandemic World-wide, due to lock down of Nations, serious difficulty in travel, hosting National and International Championships.
To help lifters, we have allowed Nations where possible, to host international events to enable lifters to challenge records.
WPF have had to hold email meetings to conduct the business of the WPF in 2020 and now 2021.
The WPF well-established legal status, legal registered logo and a proper constitution still stands well in the UK.
WPF philosophy during my tenure is that we do not ban Nations, lifters or expunge records. We disassociate ourselves from these types of persons. These are not good persons for our sport?
WPF has widened the Classification of events for lifters for Raw, Classic, Single Ply, Multi-Ply and Multi-Rep events to help widen more lifter participation.
WPF has again presented a full programme for lifters in 2022 so, please! Go out and spread this good word, will YOU?
The WPF Technical Officer is seeking more Referees to enhance the service at Championships.
WPF are always looking for good people who can actively contribute to the WPF future activities. Do you know of any such GOOD people?
The WPF have a most excellent Web Master in Igor Soloviev, Russia, keeping all World, European and British Records and documents up to date on: www.wpfpowerlifting.ru We thank Igor so much.
I want to thank the WPF Executive for all their support in this year, in yet another unprecedented year in our sport due to Covid-19 effects on all our championships.
